Does this sound like a sinus infection?

About a week ago I was suffering through hayfever and I got what felt like a coldsore on the inner side of one of my nostril. I'm no longer suffering from hayfever but for the last 3 days the tip of my nose has been very tender to touch. It feels like somebody has battered it with a cricket bat when touched. It's a little red. Could this be a nasal sinus infection? I've bought some Sudafed due to recommendation and I have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday.
